We are always looking for research projects that critically assess architecture’s role in indigenous communities, challenge the universality of contemporary architecture, and communicate the reality of indigenous communities ability to weave the traditional with contemporary.
Nunavut (‘our land’) is Canada’s newest territory, and happens to be one of the least densely populated regions of the world with only 33,000 people spread across 2 million square kilometres.
Arctic Adaptations: Nunavut at 15 was part of Canada’s contribution to the 14th International Architecture Exhibition 2014. Other dates across Canada are as follows:
